Born into a military family on Scheria, Reid Kingston knew what he was supposed to do from a young age. His mother was a communications officer on one of the Alliance ships, his father was a general in the Alliance Defense Force - Reid knew he was going to join the ranks of the Alliance because he wanted to. Growing up as a military kid, he wanted to be a part of the larger family that had brought in his parents. His family life was a good one, one that Reid was thankful for, as so many kids he knew growing up didn't have an ideal family life or they weren't allowed to choose to go into the Alliance on their own terms. but Reid knew what he wanted. He wanted to be a part of something larger. He wanted to prove his worth.

But he was a scrawny kid, he was made fun of. He was picked on a lot, and his vision of himself in his head didn’t match up to the actual version that others saw. It was one night walking home from the park when he was 12 that he ended up getting attacked - another group of kids saw the scrawny little kid and decided he was an easy target. Five against one, Reid was prepared to go down fighting by himself, when someone appeared out of nowhere. Another kid a little older at age 13 told Reid he’d fight with him - and with the two of them working together, they took down the much older gang of kids, who soon ran off. The boys decided to become fast friends then, and it was that friendship that followed Reid through his adulthood - Theo Rexa became Reid’s best friend, and it was rare that the two did something without the other.

As Reid entered the Alliance, Theo not far behind him, he found that he excelled in the things that his father did. He was a fighter, he was dependable, and while his sister decided to follow in communications like their mother, Reid was drawn to the physicality of war, of being able to fight for the cause and do what was needed. It was because of that mentality, that he pushed himself to the brink and back, that he caught the attention of a higher ranking official looking to give Reid a new assignment. Reid was brought into training for the role of infiltrator, and was given extensive training - effectively cutting himself off from others, but it was for a worthwhile cause. Reid's performance pushed him through the ranks of someone who was known to get the job done quickly and quietly. Glad for the opportunity that it presented, Reid threw himself fully into the position - no matter what it cost him.

And it did cost him, at least for a few years, as he had a falling out with Theo, who in the years that Reid had gone into deep training and missions, had fallen in love with a woman and had asked her to marry him. Surprised that he had missed so much, Reid and Theo had it out, but eventually Reid was asked to be the best man at Theo’s wedding, something he was more than happy to do. Understanding that he needed to have a little bit more of a life balance, Reid attempted to get out there more, though at the end of the day, the Alliance and the missions always came first. But he always attempted to keep the communication open with Theo as much as he could, even when there were things he couldn’t say or do. Until, the news came in.

Hearing that Theo was killed while on a mission was something that Reid found very hard to deal with, and he struggled with the reasoning behind it all. Of course he understood that no matter what, life would go on and it was all part of the job -- but for some reason Reid just could not come to terms with the loss of his best friend and the man he had as his ‘brother’. Reid threw himself fully into the missions, and went off the grid working reconnaissance and taking care of whatever needed to be taken care off. Shutting down emotionally was a way of making himself a better soldier, but over the last three years, even Alliance officials were starting to see the toll that it was taking on Reid. As a respected Infiltrator soldier, they couldn’t afford to lose him.

At the end of January 2656, Reid was given a new assignment: the Alliance ship The Endeavor was in need of a security officer, and Reid’s new task was to go through the training necessary for him to get on the ship. Considering the General who requested it was Reid’s father, it was an order that Reid could not refuse.

End of July 2656, Reid arrived on Terminus Station, getting situated in his new apartment, while awaiting the order to join The Endeavor crew and report for duty -- having no idea what type of adventure (or mayhem) awaits him.
other information Gets along very well with his family, and is very close to his younger sister who is also in the Alliance.

The guilt of losing his best friend and not being there to help weighs on him heavily; he has not spoken to his friend’s widow for that reason.

Highly respected infiltrator/agent, and known for his professionalism within the Alliance.
