premise

submitted for the approval of the midnight society, we call upon a group of friends who frequent beads - a dark and hidden bar in new orleans, la. after being drawn to one another from the vague familiarity of a face, they bonded by sharing their love of haunted places and scary stories. their inclusivity opens the doors of beads to all wishing to share a pint... and a fright (if you dare).

new orleans is lauded as the perfect backdrop for third eye excursions due to its rich reputation as the most haunted city in the united states; it makes sense that the members of a secret society would find each other here. at a speakeasy tucked away in an unassuming bar, the group meets once a week to discuss the spooky happenings that they are fascinated by - taking their last meeting of the month to explore one of the many haunted locations surrounding them. some members have no belief in the fact of odd happenstances following this group and are merely tagging along for the stories and adventures, but some definitely feel the sense of there being a very strong reason they were all brought together.

while we are your typical slice of life gpsl on the surface, who knows what's lurking in the dead of the night.

basics

please keep an open mind when it comes to the supernatural. writers are free to explore the ideas of supernatural beings and events. with that being said, expect au scenarios to pop up for those willing to participate. not into supernatural? no problem, your character is more than welcome to be an innocent (and oblivious) human bystander of these events.

examples are not required, but we are asking for you to prepare a quick blurb about your character. our group relies on character development and the connections they make with one another. please give everyone an adequate feel for your character to build off of.

we will not be taking challenges at this time. if you have a question regarding a character's activity status, please feel free to leave us a comment and we'll get back to you as soon as we can!

this shouldn't have to be said, but please keep the ic and ooc lines separate. any blurring of these lines will result in your character's removal.

activity & interaction

upon being accepted, you have three days (72 hours) to post an intro in boogeymen before being considered for removal.

all we ask is that you post at least once a month and show an adequate amount of effort in replying to your comments. since we are small, we encourage everyone to post as often as you'd like to keep the fp moving.

although we discourage the use of messasging apps, they are not outwardly forbidden.

along with their weekly meetings, we will be hosting a range of group activities from movie and game nights to plot posts and group threads - please try your best in participating when available!

please see our plot post to begin making connections. we're trying something a little different here and have provided a list of optional tropes for you to choose from. please be aware of what tropes others are using and try to keep them unique. have fun!
