Delightful, I read the whole thing to my wife in the car and we laughed a lot. Is #4 a Pajama Sam reference??

Ah, well in Pajama Sam 2 in the break room, you can in fact play tic tac toe using ketchup and mustard to draw!

I really enjoy thinking about the math behind pen-and-paper games. In geometry class I avoided taking notes by playing every single possible game of tic tac toe with myself to try to decide what the best moves were. That's a lot harder with something like Battleship or Cows and Bulls, but information theory can help a little!

Did you know that Donald Knuth wrote a paper in the 70s about what the best moves to play in Mastermind? With only four numbers/colors, there's actually a pretty straightforward algorithm! (aka almost Cows and Bulls but on plastic instead of paper).

Also, are you going to cover Hangman? That's what we played a lot of as kids.

I used to have hangman on the site but I removed because I don't really like it that much, I found a great video by Jan Misali about hangman which does a much better job talking about the game than I ever could. I also read that paper Donald Knuth wrote when I put bulls and cows on the site, sometime I do wish I could go more into the math about these games but the problem is that I am not good at...

Thank you for the follow and the comment though! Also, I find it interesting that you mentioned Battleship and Bulls and cows in your comment because the original 1931 paper version of battleship (called Salvo) was sort of a combination of those two games, player made multiple shots per turn and were only told how hits and misses they had (e.g. 5 shots, 3 hits and 2 misses).

Should I remove the Pros, Cons, and Evaluation sections on the Paper Games?

Nope, I think that is what makes those articles so great.
