My Oma was born in Bad Segeberg Germany 1955
5 people lived in her home her Mum,Dad,2 younger sisters and herselfShe was baptised and confirmed into Evangelist Lutherien in Germany and as a teenager went to church most Sundays in her free time she would do a lot of needlework knitting, crocheting, sewing and make alot of her own clothes and she used to enjoy water colour painting and read a lot and later on gardening she remember quite a lot about her parents her grandparents not so much because they lived away from them so she didn’t see them that often and her grandparents on her dads side still had young children of their own because her dad's youngest sister was only a one years old when she was born so she doesn't remember so much about them because her parents both moved away from their families and her Oma and Opa they used to live in Schleswig-Holstein between Keil and Eckernförde which was a bit higher up towards Denmark because her Oma came from the border country and her maiden name was Sonnichson which is a Danish name
Her Oma on her mums side her Oma and her children were refugees from a part that used to be part of Germany and the other side of Poland which was split between Lithuania and Russia after the war and her Opa on that side never left there he was in what she suppose was called the home guard and well her Oma always thought that he’d was a prisoner of war with the russians but well this was because they didn’t get any news from there until after the war because the country was split into east and west Germany and all the eastern part was under Russian occupation and so they didn’t find out till after the war and it must have been quite late on that her Opa had been killed sort of within three days of her Oma and the children leaving so obviously she never knew her Opa on thats side
My dad was born in 1974 in Downpatrick Northern Ireland
He moved around lot because his dad was in the army so they had quite a few homes in the house it was his sister, mum, dad and himself they didn't practise a religion
When he was little he would spend his free time playing football, exploring, building things and draw but not anymore One of his earliest memoriers is When he was living in Germany when he were kid he just remembers playing outside with his sister on like go carts or the park
He remembers a lot of his Grandma in London more than I remember my other Grandma because she lived in Germany so he didn’t see her very much he did when he was little but then he don’t remember it so he remembers his Grandparents in London his Nan a lot always kind of being there
To hear about what was going on in the world he would watch the news with his parents at night and reading the Paper but his dad used to buy the Daily mail,Mirror and the Sun so that was more about sport then it was to do with the news
He said that life has changed a lot from the point of view he would have never owned a computer but now he has a phone,Ipad, computer and laptop so from that point of view technology has changed his life a lot shopping has changed a lot it is 24/7 now when he was younger it used to be the thing you only did on the weekend everything is always on all of the time now
My mum was born in São Paulo Brasil in 1973
4 people lived in her family it was a very warm very in each other life they always say something to one person and then the next day everybody else knows but it was nice good sense of family Growing up as a child she went to church every Sunday she thinks that it was important to know about religion and when she did her first communion and everything her family decided it was her choice to do as she wished she would not say it has had a massive impact on her but she likes to believe in something more and in time when you are very sad and down she think it helps to believe in something it gives you courage when growing up she used to swim almost everyday and competed in competitions
The earliest memory she has is sitting on the floor and there is this rocking chair and there was this lady's hand with red nails tapping on the chair and part of her always thought she dreamed it and when I once talked to her mum about it that it was her great grandmother Amliea from her grandfather's side that when she and her sister were little her mum would put them on the floor by the chair and she used to have red long nails
From her memorys of her mum and dad and her grandparents what she remebers most is all to the love that they had
