the essay ended up more about why certain terms aren't used online anymore in western nations than anything else LOL but i think overall the lack of 'netizen' not being used is because of profit being preferred over the general interests of people. it's also why LGBT content is routinely scrubbed on bigger platforms especially if it discusses trans women.

interesting. I tried out xiaohongshu for a couple of months and I really think everyone should. there's a lot to learn even from just observing a different online society

i should have the essay suggested by houdinimag up today! after that, i'm thinking of a cross-posted essay to tumblr about ned stark and robert baratheon for my asoiaf shrine up sometime before the end of may, which by then i should have agot finished for the second time :3
